Corn Watches Ahoy

There are a lot of interesting things going on in the world of plastic recently. Not only are people starting to use less plastic in the first place, but they’re starting to recycle what they do use much more often. Some people are taking it even further and saying “to hell with regular plastic” as they invest in plastics made out of corn resin instead of oil byproducts. There are a lot of great benefits to using this stuff.

Obviously, the major benefit of using corn resin plastics is that they don’t require the input of oil. That’s a benefit that just about anyone can get behind. However, there is an added benefit to that lack of a reliance upon oil. Unlike regular plastic, these products also are able to biodegrade over time. Instead of sitting on the ground until the world explodes, these plastics will all be out of our hair in a reasonable amount of time. This is not only much better for the environment, but it is also much better for our peace of mind.
