Eco-Friendly Shoes

These days, there are innumerable ways for people to make more environmentally conscious purchases. Not only can you buy recycled papers, plastics, and metals, but you can buy whole products that are made from those recycled materials. One of the most interesting recycled products that you can buy– which no one ever seems to think of– are recycled shoes.

These eco-friendly shoes are constructed out of completely recycled materials. The uppers are made out of old soda and water bottles, the soles are made out of recycled tire rubber, and even the laces are made out of recycled cotton fabric. The whole thing comes together to make these shoes a great, attractive, resource-effective way to be more eco-friendly.

All of these great eco-friendly shoes come in a wide range of colors, styles, and fabrics too. This means that not only are you making a more responsible choice, but you won’t be stuck with some ugly shoe for all your troubles. You can find anything from super-classy shoes that you’d wear to a wedding or nice job interview, to shoes that you can wear while out doing errands or something more laid back.

The only thing I would not recommend getting these shoes for is if you’re planning on doing a lot of outdoor work with them. While there are definitely some high-quality recycled rubber shoes out there, the rigors of outdoor work are not conducive to recycled materials. It makes more sense to just get a decent pair of new outdoor work boots or shoes, then recycle them so that other less work-intensive shoes can be made out of them.

In the end, there are a lot of great ways to lead a more resource-efficient lifestyle. Among all the great things that we can all do to save some resources in our daily lives, buying things like shoes made out of recycled materials is one of the simplest. After all, you don’t really have to do anything special. All you have to do is decide to purchase from a specific vendor, and it doesn’t require any more work than you already do.
