  • A great gift idea for dear Dad is a book called, “Ready, Set, Green: Eight Weeks to Modern Eco-Living” by Graham Hill. It can be purchased here on Amazon. This makes a great gift for a late Father’s Day present as well .
  • Instead of buying a lot of gifts think about things that you can actually do with your Dad, things that won’t put a big impact on the environment. Such as taking a walk at a local park, spending time together. Like to bike ride? Take bikes that you already own out for the day, or purchase a set of eco-friendly bikes. Bird watching can also be a nice past time. There are plenty of things that can be done, but you have decide what the two of you enjoy doing together.
  • Fix a meal made up of mostly organic and or locally grown foods.
  • Eco cards have got to be one of the easiest ways of going green for Father’s Day. These little beauties are the easiest to find at Walmart, though I can’t guarantee that every Walmart carries them, and depending on where you live they usually cost $1.00 or less. So, not only are they better for the environment but also very good to your wallet.
  • Want to take Dad on a trip by car, but really dislike the idea of using a lot of gas, not to mention how much it would cost for the use of gas? Here is a great solution for that! Get a couple people that you know, and their Fathers, and carpool to where ever you intend on going. This part will help you and other people use less gas. So, how do we get the cheaper part out of this? Its quite simple. Each person chips in for the gas. For example, if there are a total of 4 people in the vehicle then simply divide the total price of gas after it is pumped by 4, and have each person pay their own share. If this is a bit much then you can always have everyone take turns paying for gas as well.
  • Create a basket filled with eco goodies, such a CFL light bulbs, all natural personal products (i.e bath items and daily care items), rechargeable batteries if he constantly uses batteries and refuses to give them up, etc. There are so many different things that you could include in such a basket. The possibilities are endless, so go ahead and use your imagination .
  • Does your Dad love to cook or do most of the grocery shopping in the house? If so, then a great gift idea is a gift certificate to Whole Foods Market if you have one near by.
  • Most men choose to shave their beards, so a great gift for a Dad like this would be the 100% recycled triple bladed razor by Preserve, which you can find here. A lot of Walgreens stores carry this product.
