I love the idea! But I'm a bit concerned about the corn starch. It's known to cause yeast infections in people prone to them. Is there something you can substitute with that isn't a yeast feeding starch??

Sounds like too much hard work to me.. plus where i come from, giving soap is likely to be taken as a suggestion that you think the recipient needs a wash!

Melt and pour soap is fun, and Brambleberry has a good reputation... but if you really want to have control over what is in your soap, then make it from scratch.. it\'s not hard to do! Remember ALL SOAP is made from LYE (sodium hydroxide)BUT once you saponify your oils, the lye lye and oils are chemically changed into soap! Snow drift farms has some very good home made soap recipies.

Pretty homemade soaps are a natural for Holiday gifting from family to co-workers. They also make great birthday, shower, and practical yet fanciful wedding gifts.
