Eco-friendly Wine Storage

Spring is the perfect time for cleaning and re-organizing and also for home remodeling. Storage is always an issue for any busy families home and for the adults in the household alcohol storage can be an issue. In this day and age we want storage we can pack up and take with us should we move but is also eco-friendly. Rather than installing specific shelving for a wine cellar there us now a new product called STORViNO, a modular and transportable wine storage system.

Eco-friendly
The eco-friendly part comes in with it’s production. STORViNO modules are made from 100% post consumer recycled HDPE. Previous forms of HDPE include retired grocery carts, solid waste containers, milk crates, product bins and beverage trays. A great design feature on the modules is the cork connector openings. The allows the reuse of wine bottle corks to be used to assemble the modules together as a stackable system. This a great use of design, reuse and thinking about waste product from the items the modules are meant to hold! The STORViNO guys really thought this through!

The overall design is not dissimilar to plastic milk crates but with bigger openings to allow for larger wine bottles, with each module being designed to hold six 750ml wine bottles. Whereas milk crates were designed to be stacked on top of each other the STORViNO crates are designed to travel open end up, and stack open end out allowing easy insertion and removal of wine bottles.
