Are you searching for a way to deodorize your home without releasing harmful chemicals into the air? A good way to cut out the harmful chemicals from air fresheners is to keep the air fresh in your home by using homemade air fresheners. Homemade air fresheners aren’t only good for the environment, they are also good for many people who are tend to be allergic to store bought air fresheners.

Follow the following recipes to deodorize your home without harmful chemicals:

Boiling Scents -

Try boiling orange rinds, cinnamon sticks, lemon rinds, apple peelings, ginger root, etc. in water on top of the stove in small pot or sauce pan. Use your imagination as far as scents go, you never know what you might find. Almost any kind of fruit with a rind on it works really well. Winter is an excellent time of the year to use cinnamon sticks, orange peels, and apple peels because of the holiday season. If you really want to get creative try adding a couple drops of your favorite essential to your combination of rinds in the boiling water.

Potpourri -

Trying to find a way to get rid of orange rinds, apple rinds, lemon rinds, etc. after peeling your oranges, apples, lemons, etcetera? Simply let the rinds dry out and then place them in a small glass bowl. A great addition to the rinds of your choice would be cinnamon sticks, dried rose petals, dried flowers, and perhaps a couple drops of a matching essential oil.
