The freezer can be a wonderful tool. Sure enough, in addition to keeping your food cold and fresh, it can do the same for other products. Keeping some things cold that you wouldn’t normally think to do extends the life and allows you to reuse them more often and thus save money. The following is a short life of items that have been shown to benefit from being kept cold. Some have been proved by science, others by experiments and anecdotes passed along generations. Either way, look to save some money and create a longer lifespan for some household items.
1. Batteries: Studies have some that keeping batteries in the freezer can extend their life. While alkali batteries do not recharge as much, Nicad and NiMH batteries can have their lives extended by up to 90% if kept cold.
2. Wax Candles: They too will have longer lives and burn more slowly if they can kept cold in the freezer.
3. Pantyhose: At some point someone decided to try this to see what would happen, and sure enough, anecdotal tests have shown that pantyhose, should you wear them, can last longer and are less likely to run.
4. Water Bottles: Not so much to keep things fresh, but more to make the freezer work efficiently. Big plastic bottles filled with ice keep the freezer better insulated and keep the freezer full, aiding in the cooling of everything inside. Moreover, should your freezer shut down, the bottles can help keep things cooler for longer while the freezer gets repaired.
5. Alcohol: Vodka and other distilled spirits can benefit from being kept cold. Others too may even taste smoother, and more expensive, after spending some time deeply chilled. And should you have any leftover wine after dinner, pour that into the ice cube tray to make wine cubes, which can be useful for cooking at a later date.
6. Food! Of course food makes sense, but there are a few extras that aren’t as commonly thought of. Coffee grinds, spices, and even popcorn, when frozen, have a longer shelf life while still staying fresh. Moreover, when needed, the spices can be easily broken down and crumbled up if they are frozen.
Part of being eco-friendly is getting the most out of your products, and keeping things around as long as possible without simply buying something new. So keep some things cool and watch their life extend.

It is a great article. I hope i can see more your another interesting ones. I think Innovation is the Core.
