It is a well known fact that the majority of people these days are replacing CDs with mp3 files. In order to listen to mp3 files people use things such as mp3 players, ipods, computers, cellphones (the ones that have the ability to act as a cellphone as well as a mp3 player), etc. What makes mp3 files so great is that they are better for the environment, ironically enough. The reason why they are better for the environment is because they eliminate the use of plastic CDs. While there are still players for mp3 files just like with CDs there is one difference, the CDs are eliminated. A MP3 player, computer, etc. can also hold an enormous amount more of music compared to CDs.

Now I bet you're wondering where you can find mp3s. That part is really simple. There is a vast amount of websites online that sell mp3 files. Here is a list of a couple places online that sell mp3 files:

MP3 Fiesta - MP3 Fiesta is a very easy and user friendly website. Simply create an account and browse through their music selection, selecting which track and or album you want to download. The song that you clicked to download gets put into your downloads section that way you can download it as many times as you want within a 48 hour period. The catch with MP3 Fiesta is that you have to deposit $25.00 into your account. While this may be a pain for most I have found that they are one of the cheapest places to get mp3 files online.

iTunes - iTunes is probably one of the most popular mp3 websites. While iTunes is one of the most popular places to download mp3 files there is a catch. You have to download their software in order to download from iTunes, so as long as you don't mind the extra software download iTunes tends to work out well for most people. Something rather enthusing about iTunes is that you can use Tunes For Trees in order to look up music on iTunes, and for every 10 tracks that you download Tunes For Trees will plant a tree.

Amazon - Being an extremely well known, not to mention popular online store, Amazon, is another place where mp3 files can be downloaded. A nice feature that Amazon has is that you can search for mp3 albums by price.

You make a great point. But if you have to use CDs try to buy the re-writable ones. PowderLover

I have more MP3's these days than Cd's for certain, it's a good thing for the environment as there's less plastic in the world, but I do worry about what happens to all the old CDs and whether they get recycled or not.

Yeah, mp3s have taken over. And with old CDs, I love when I see people turn them into art projects instead of just throwing them out.
