Collapsible Solar Powered Lantern

Here is a sleek and portable design for a solar lantern by designer Jesper Jonsson. The slim and collapsible build of the lantern makes it perfect for being carried around and pulled out when it is needed. The unit is really quite simple to use. Fold up the lantern and hang it in the sunny to allow the solar panel to charge the batteries. Then once the sun has set, unfold the lantern with a little twisting motion and the light inside will turn on. Then hang it up somewhere and enjoy the lamp’s glow.

This little lantern is perfect for a backyard cookout or camping trip. As long as you remember to charge it up, the light should be ready to go when you want it. Plus the solar panel makes it completely rechargeable so the unit is ecofreindly and renewable.

As of yet, the solar lantern is just a design concept so it isn’t actually available for purchase. This definitly has potential though to be an easy to use alternative for outdoor lighting, reusable and sustainable.
